Murder, mystery and a chocolate love potion...
Caitlyn is looking forward to celebrating her first Midsummer's Eve in England. But when a teenage girl is mysteriously murdered and a priceless love potion goes missing, she and her cousins are plunged into a puzzling mystery.
Is the girl's death connected to the midnight bonfires at the ancient stone circle? What about the two strangers who recently visited the enchanted chocolate shop belonging to the "village witch"? With her naughty black kitten and toothless old vampire uncle - not to mention the dashing Lord James Fitzroy - all lending a helping hand, Caitlyn sets out to do some magical sleuthing.
But Midsummer's Eve is fast approaching and spells are going disastrously wrong... Can Caitlyn use her newfound witch powers to find the killer - and maybe even mend a broken heart?

Witch Summer Night Cream BEWITCHED BY CHOCOLATE Mysteries ~ Book 3 Volume 3 HY Hanna Books
It's always a good day when there's a new Bewitched by Chocolate mystery to curl up with. With the series now in the third book, I easily fall back into the lives of the main characters of Tillyhenge. The summer solstice is approaching & several people want to get their hands on the secret ingredient to the Widow Mags' love potion. Good thing it's kept locked away with a little help from a magic spell...until someone manages to steal it anyway that is.
It's business as usual in the magical chocolate shop until Caitlyn's cousin, Evie, is suspected of murdering a nasty classmate who's been perfectly nasty towards her.
It's nice to see the bond the cousins are developing which means Caitlyn has to investigate to keep Evie out of trouble with the Inspector. Making matters worse, Evie has a serious crush on a boy named Chris who she's determined to make fall in love with her. I knew it would turn out disastrous based on Evie's magical ability but wasn't quite expecting the outcome from her attempt at a love potion. I had to laugh at the description of the results! Good thing it wasn't permanent.
I'm glad that Caitlyn is learning to develop her magic skills more now. Her relationship with James Fitzroy is moving forward so slowly. (But it is moving forward at least.) I wonder if she'll tell him she's a witch before or after they finally admit their feelings for each other?
I must admit I was shocked at who was causing the bonfire Caitlyn kept seeing at night since the beginning of the books. It was a fitting outcome considering. I'm hoping for more of that to be addressed in the next book.
Although the mystery is always satisfying, I'm never quite ready for it to be over. Until next time...

Witch Summer Night Cream BEWITCHED BY CHOCOLATE Mysteries ~ Book 3 Volume 3 HY Hanna Books Reviews
I really enjoyed the series. It had just the right touch of magic and British Cotswalds coziness. The characters were well-drawn, and I was so hooked I read all the books one right after the other. I did think the love interest was old-fashioned and strait laced and so was the heroine's sexuality or lack of it at the age of 22. I also got tired of reading about the protagonist's pear shaped body and how she hated it; couldn't she come to love iand accept her body, and not just because her love interest found her attractive.
It's Mid Summer's Eve.
Caitlyn discovers her grandmother has a real love potion, a Shakespeare historian believes the play Mid Summer Nights Dream was real and based right hear where Caitlyn now calls home.
When Caitlyn see a bonfire in the circle again, she rushes out to investigate and stumbles across the body of a girl her cousin just declared she would like to see drop dead.
This is a well written story with lots of humor, a little bit of romance, and a good warning as to why not to dabble in things you are not familiar with.
Caitlyn, her grandmother, the Widow Mags, Bertha, her aunt, and Evie, her cousin are making a special chocolate sauce that makes everything that it is on irresistible. It turns out that the Widow Mags is using a weakened version of a love potion in her sauce. There is a sleazy, cut-rate manufacturer who wants to buy her recipe.
Evie is having to deal with a mean girl and with first love. It also doesn't help that all of her spells go awry. Caitlyn runs afoul of Inspector Walsh again. Sir James Fitzroy is still Johnny on the spot whenever Caitlyn needs him.
This is book 3 in the series. I've liked all of these cozy mysteries.
This addition to the Bewitched by Chocolate Mystery Series by H Y Hanna takes a humorous twist from Shakespeare's Midsummer's Night Dream. Love potions, enchanted donkeys, and a delightful lover boy named Ferninand add humor to a light-hearted mystery. The fact that Ferninand is a bull and the donkey wasn't supposed to end up a donkey adds to the reader's delight. I usually don't like paranormal mysteries, but this series is proving to be full of fun, laughter and surprises. Because I don't read reviews that aren't verified purchases, I paid for my copy although I was given a preview by the author. Since I now have two copies, I read it twice. Laughed out loud both times, although I did have to go buy more chocolate. Enjoyed that twice too, btw.
The other thing is that I now have this strong urge to visit Stonehenge.
WITCH SUMMER NIGHT'S CREAM by H.Y. Hanna
The Third Bewitched by Chocolate Mystery
Caitlyn Le Fey is still somewhat amazed that she found her biological family in the Cotswolds village of Tillyhenge. And more amazed that she's an honest to goodness witch. As Caitlyn hones her chocolate making skills, as well as her magical ones, she discovers the dead body of a girl who recently bullied her cousin. Surely, Evie didn't have anything to do with the other girl's death...even though Evie loudly wished her dead...and can't always control her magick. Fortunately, there are other suspects in town including the nefarious chocolate factory owner who wants to buy the Widow Mags' recipes and the Shakespearean scholar looking to prove that the events surrounding A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM were based in fact. But could the murder actually be over a love potion?
H.Y. Hanna treats us to another adventure in the Cotswolds. In WITCH SUMMER NIGHT'S CREAM we get the delectable addition of Shakespeare. Not the bard himself, but a nutty professor besotted with THE MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT DREAM and his belief that Shakespeare created the play using facts and the very real village of Tillyhenge.
Hanna has a knack for creating laugh out loud scenes, but with people so true the situations are believable, even if outrageous!
The Bewitched by Chocolate series combines one of a kind characters in a bucolic setting with mouthwatering chocolates and a delightful splash of magick. The characters, although zany, are at the center very real and ultimately relateable. While humorous, there is a heartwarming charm to be found in Tillyhenge. H.Y. Hanna has created a depth of feeling within her characters providing readers not only plenty of laughs, but plenty of love as well.
